January 23, 2012 - Greetings Adventure Runners! Thanks for being patient with us while we get the TOC THOMASS results up here (in addition to the OOA site). Our webmonkey was orienteering in warmer climes on a fixed course between the Beach (control A), Bar (control B), and Buffet (control C). Anyway, all is forgiven as the happy and tanned little fellow has posted the results for your delectation. Congrats to the fast runners!

January 9, 2012 - Happy New Year! We were pleased to host a novice clinic for an enthusiastic group of runners and outdoor enthusiasts at Earl Bales park on Saturday. The clinic, organized by Celine through our new Meetup group, enjoyed fantastic, if disturbingly unseasonal weather; we couldn't have asked for a better day to share the muddy joys of orienteering. Check out our the Meetup page where we'll be organizing training runs and the occasional icebreaker.

December 16, 2011 - It's time to throw down! Online registration is officially open for the TOC THOMASS.

December 13, 2011 - Break? What seasonal break? The orienteering season is already 3 events into tomorrow with a triplet of the 2012 THOMASS series events down and more to come. The next instalment will be hosted by your very own TOC on January 15th at Greenwood Conservation Area. Online registration is coming momentarily, but dig the event page for details.

While the THOMASS series pits runner against runner and club against club, personal glory be damned - do it for TOC! Jamie needs some bragging rights.

October 30, 2011 - Boo! That was some scary Vampire-O! We filled Claireville Conservation with over 100 vampires, zombies, minions of the undead, werewolves, Princess Leia, several monkeys, a mime, a really hot Pumpkin, superheroes, Freddy, Jason, a fairy princess, a Venetian courtesan, that guy from that show, and what might have been a grown man in drag but we dared not ask. A success by any measure!

In addition to our tradition of vampires stealing your punches, hapless humans also had to deal with a growing zombie horde. By the end of event, with humans in short supply, it was clear that in the event of an actual zombie apocalypse, orienteerers are not your best bet for companionship. They tend to be rather gullible when faced with a shambling stranger moaning "Brains...". Oh well - lesson learned for next year. The important thing is that everybody made out like a bandit with a good glucuse stuffed loot bag, and all the metaphorical brains they could eat.

Check out pix of the event on our Facebook page and don't forget to Like us. We like you.

Wrappping up TOC's 2011 season is the Annual General Meeting. All members are (morally) required to attend this fun pot luck in downtown Toronto on the evening of November 19th. MJ requests that you bring dessert, lots and lots of dessert. We'll post detailed directions here soon, but free up the date!

October 3, 2011 - So there you are, sitting in your superhero costume, in your basement, waiting impatiently on the eve of the biggest holiday of the whole spooking year - and finally you can't take it any longer. You have to show somebody your handsewn cape or you're going to go totally weird and it won't be your fault.

We have an idea: instead of getting yourself arrested, why not wear your brilliantly originally, daringly form-fitting, and shockingly garish outfit to the annual Vampire-O? We'll be haunting Claireville Conservation Area this year, a location certainly spectored by the ghosts of O events past. The challenge will be to find the pumpkins strewn throughout Claireville's extensive trails, while avoiding nip-happy Counts and the shambling Undead. Will humankind (or failing that, you) survive, or will the Zombies take back the night? Time to put up or shut up. Registration is now open.

Don't forget your boots, hero.
