Turkey Trot, York County Forests

TOC and UKR are proud to host the annual Turkey Trot orienteering event in the forests of York County on the weekend of September 25th and 26th.
The first event
on a busy fall orienteering calendar in Southern Ontario, the Turkey Trot features 3 events at 2 different venues over 2 days. On Saturday UKR will host the medium and sprint
courses at Bender Graves. On Sunday TOC will be hosting the classic long courses at Eldred King Forest. Both locations are within a 5 minute
drive from each other.
This is a two day total time event. Awards will be given to the top 3 in each category with the best combined times for the medium and
long distances. All those participating in the Sprint will also receive a commemorative souvenir of the event.

| Terrain: | Located on the Oak Ridges Moraine, the terrain covers dry, sandy soil with some rock features and a few water features.
The forest is mostly mature oak, beech and maple, with substantial wide-open pine plantation and a generous trail network. |

Please Note: SportIdent electronic timing will be used at this event. Your entry fee includes the use of a SportIdent electronic timing card (SI card).
If you have your own SI card, please provide the number when registering and you will save $5 per event on your entry fee for the medium and long courses!
SI cards are available for purchase for $40 incl tax, please indicate on the registration form if you are interested in purchasing one |
| Directions: | Middle and Sprint Distances (Bender Graves) - Bender Graves is located at the end of Kennedy Rd., North of Davis Dr.
The forest is on the east side of the road. Watch for O-signs.
Long Distance (Eldred King Forest) -
From Toronto: Take Hwy 404 north to Wellington Street (Aurora Side Rd). Go east towards Ballantrae. At Hwy 48, turn left and go north for 3 km. The entrance to the
parking is on your left. Watch for O-signs.
