TOC Champs 2011, Greenwood Conservation Area, Ajax

It's not really summer around here until the TOC Champs happen and it's just about time to turn up the heat. Our much-anticipated fest o' the season is coming soon and we want to see every TOC member out in our collective backyard, enjoying the frivolity that is the Champs! Once a year we gather as a community to run, curse the map datum, and crown the (allegedly) male and female member most adept at not being lost.

In case you hadn't caught on. This is NOT an A level event. Please, bring the family and make them feel welcome. We'd appreciate the extra hands when we're searching the park for you...

And not only do we *cough* race *cough*, but we also eat. That's right - in an unexpected twist, the club that brought you some of the most delectable urban mappery is also turning its hand to food. Should you make it back to the finish at some reasonable hour, you will be stuffed like a horn of plenty by the specially contracted chef for the occasion (which will probably just be David, but humour him). TOC will pony up the main course - almost guaranteed not to be an actual pony - and we ask that you bring a salad or a dessert to share.

It's hard to believe, but the Champs are free to all TOC members. If you haven't yet, be sure to renew your membership online before registering for this event.
