Vampire-O 2011, Claireville Conservation Area

Whooooo! Costumes, candy, and contours! The most feared event of the year is coming soon! Outdoor, nighttime fun for runners, families, Scout, Cub and Guide groups! We make sure everyone gets a prize!

Besides, it's just not Halloween until you're lost in the woods with a grown man wearing a Sailor Moon costume. If that doesn't scare you, you're braver than us!

Time: Registration starting at 6:00 pm
Mass Start at dusk (approx 6:45 pm)

Meet Director/ Course Setter: Michael Johnston
Format:Night Score Event - participants will visit as many controls as possible, in any order, within a 60 minute time limit.
Terrain:Many trails, shallow contours, some clear areas, but generally infested with Zombies. Some Vampires.
Registration:Registration / Waiver from 6:00 pm

Cost:Adults - $12 until Oct 27th, $15 on race day
Juniors - $10 until Oct 27th, $13 on race day
Seniors - $10 until Oct 27th, $13 on race day
Family (max 2 adults, plus all kids in the same house) - $24 max until Oct 27th, $30 on race day
Groups - $8 per person until Oct 27th, $10 on race day. Recognized groups only, please.
Required Gear:Costumes - okay, not required, but come on, it's Halloween!
Dress for the weather and bring a headlamp or flashlight.
Consider giving your children a bike flasher or glowstick.
Directions:From Toronto, take Hwy 401 West to 427 North. Take 427 North to Finch. Follow Finch north to Steeles, then Steeles east to Highway 50. North on 50 to the park entrance on the west (left) side, a few hundred metres past Highway 407.
Enter through the gate and follow the orienteering flags to the parking area.

Please drive carefully once you are through the gate! There will be minions scampering everywhere.
