2008 Ontario Championships
 2008 Eastern Canadian Championships

October 11-12, 2008 (Thanksgiving Weekend)

The Toronto Orienteering Club and the Ukrainian Orienteering Club are proud to host the Ontario and Eastern Canadian Orienteering Championships this October. The weekend will feature three events over two days in the Ganaraska Forest and nearby Darlington Provincial Park.

Schedule of Events

Event Date Registration First Start Location
Medium Saturday Oct 11th  10:00  11:30  Ganaraska West
Sprint Saturday Oct 11th  15:00  16:00  Darlington Provincial Park
National Fundraiser BBQ Saturday Oct 11th    after Sprint  Darlington Provincial Park
Long Sunday Oct 12th  9:00  10:00  Ganaraska West

The Medium and Long events of the Eastern Canadian and Ontario Championships will take place at the far western edges of Ganaraska Forest in areas that have not been used for orienteering in over 30 years. The area is on the Oak Ridges Moraine with sandy soil leading to many intricate contours, and very few water and rock features. The terrain is mixed deciduous and planted pine coniferous forest with a moderate path system throughout the area.

The Sprint will take place at Darlington Provincial Park, near Bowmanville. The park offers a generous mix of open area and mixed forest. Immediately following the Sprint, members of the National Team will be hosting a Fundraiser BBQ at Darlington.
