More Info: Cathy Hayhow
Race Format: SCORE-O  Choose: 1 HOUR or 2 HOUR Duration

Controls are located throughout the park. Each control has a different point value - depending on its distance from the start & its accessibility (i.e. hills, streams, etc.) By visiting a control - you get that control's point value. Using a detailed map, showing the control locations, you must accumulate as many points as possible & return to the start within a fixed time limit - either 1 hour, or two hours - your choice.

Strategy: You decide which controls to visit, in which order & the route to follow between controls.
Your strategy could be to concentrate on the controls that are more accessible (near/on paths) and that you can get to quickly.
Or, you might decide to go after the higher value controls, and run up & down hills, through forests & across streams.
In either case, you decide whether you return to the start in one hour or two hours.

Of course, you can also treat this as a recreational run & take as little or as much time as you want - as long as you finish by 1 PM.

A compass is not absolutely necessary - but there will be a small number available for rental (50¢).
